Unique Amenities Make U/D Even Better!

Love condo living, but miss hosting outdoor get-togethers in a big backyard? Trying to figure out how to do your DIY projects in a tight space? Look no further than U/D – each of our builder projects features exclusive on-site amenities, all for you to enjoy! Let’s take a look at some of the unique offerings you will find around U/D.

Why Amenities Matter

When it comes to condo living, there’s a lot to be said for having access to functional and fun spaces (inside and out) without having to worry about all the maintenance and upkeep! Plus, many of these spaces just make life easier – less scheduling and running around leaves you with more time to enjoy your home.

Getting Outside

When it comes to living life outdoors, Aria by Gracorp Properties has residents covered! This rental building boasts a 20,000-square-foot interior courtyard with various spaces to lounge, play and connect with friends and neighbours.

What most people notice first in the Aria courtyard is the centrally located Land Yacht, a 1973 Airstream trailer that’s perfect for hanging out and enjoying coffee with friends! This unique piece of history has a welcome home at Aria.

Looking for a little sport in your life? It’s never far away at Aria, with bocce and pickleball courts that are perfect for getting active on the weekends. After a busy afternoon on the courts, grab your hotdogs and buns and head right back to the courtyard to make use of one of the eight barbecue areas free for your use. Once you’ve grilled up your delicious meal you can enjoy it outdoors in one of the lounge areas!

Aria isn’t the only U/D home with an emphasis on the outdoors either. The IVY by Brookfield Residential boasts a community garden and playground right on the property.

For the social butterflies, August by Homes by Avi boasts a 4,400-square-foot outdoor courtyard on the second floor, perfect for lounging in the sun or hosting friends for wine night!

TIP: Getting out to enjoy nature is easy in our community with a plethora of parks and pathways to bike, walk, run or play in! Here are some ideas for June.

Staying Indoors

In Esquire by Truman, not only will you find a pet spa and fitness room, you’ll also find a movement studio for yoga and similar workouts, a spin studio and a workshop for all the DIY-ers in the house!

“We worked in amenities residents would need, especially in a more compact environment,” says Morgan Fraser, digital marketing manager at Truman Homes. “These are things that you don’t even necessarily think about when you’re downsizing or moving out for the first time.”

In particular, the workshop serves to fill the role that a garage would in a single-family home – a dedicated area to get your hands dirty and work on art, repairs or other projects.

“The workshop is intended to give an extra space for people who enjoy working with their hands or doing DIY hobbies – even with children, things like painting can be messy and you may not want it happening in your home,” Fraser says. “It’s one of our more exclusive offerings.”

When it comes to fitness, Fraser says more space – and extended 24-hour openings – gives everyone the opportunity to exercise how they want without worrying about crowding, time limits or even leaving the building.

“There is demand, especially in University District, for 24/7 fitness facilities for people working odd hours or studying – we wanted to them to have that flexibility,” Fraser says, adding that the movement studio allows for meditation, yoga and stretching without crowding the fitness room – a win-win for lifters, runners and yogis alike!

Throughout U/D, many buildings feature amenities like in-building pet spas, fitness areas and spaces for entertaining. In addition to the outdoor courtyard, August boasts a private indoor lounge with a wet bar for entertaining; Maple by Truman features a barber and salon for the 55-plus set; and back in Aria there’s a games room as well as an indoor lounge and kitchen for entertaining!

Having amenities that work for your life is just as important as loving your home – and at U/D, there’s so much choice, you’re sure to find the perfect home! Check out available homes in U/D here – and stay tuned as more join our community!

Creativity, community and convenience can all come to make life full and fun with the exceptional, uncommon amenities at U/D. What do you think of the offers available here!  Let’s connect and share on FacebookInstagram and Twitter.
