Celebrating Spring & Milestones in University District

November 16, 2016

It’s an exciting time of year for Calgarians. The Alberta landscape comes alive again and with it, the promise of more time spent outdoors enjoying all that the Calgary summer has to offer.

It’s hard to believe that it was just a year ago this May that our team got an early endorsement from Calgary Planning Commission to name the community as University District and streets after University of Calgary chancellors. This April, in conjunction with the University’s 50th anniversary, we hosted nearly all the chancellors in person at an event along the future University Avenue (Main Street), bringing the concept full circle.

In the months ahead, some of our long-awaited milestones are finally coming to fruition, making this summer extra notable. Our team prepares to pick up and advance the mighty task that began last year – construction of the land – with the start of a new construction season.  We’ll share details about the construction activity in the coming weeks.

We’re also working through details to bring partners onto the team to build the first homes in the community one day. Thank you to everyone who’s signed up to our registration list or stopped by to tell us that they are ready to move in! Watch for exciting milestone announcements in the future.
