Circle the Wagons YYC
November 16, 2016
It’s time to circle in on the spirit of community and celebrate togetherness with something truly unique.
In a place like no other, an unusual carnival will ignite and inspire your love for Calgary.
Join us at University District on September 10, as BassBus, YYCFoodTrucks, Village Brewery and University District collaborate to present Circle the Wagons. This travelling delight of local food, music, art and performance celebrates all that Calgary has to offer.
Wonders bloom around each corner, tree- and hill-top, as circus performers enchant and musicians inspire Calgarians to dance their cares away at the city’s newest urban village.
2016 marks Circle the Wagons inaugural year as part of the University District northwest landscape that will inspire exploration of University District’s 200-acres of wide-open green spaces, ponds and pathways.
“Circle the Wagons invites Calgarians to discover new areas of the city, and fall in love with YYC over and over again,” says BassBus co-founder and Circle the Wagons organizer Baran Faber. “Each year we hear from patrons time and time again ‘I never knew this place existed in Calgary! It’s beautiful!”
“We are excited about collaborating with a community that embraces local arts, culture and recreation,” Faber says. “Having University District collaborate with us to showcase an eclectic festival which accommodates the Calgary lifestyle is the perfect fit. To help build an environment which allows Calgarians to experience fully what the city has to offer in a mindful way is monumental.
Our goal with Circle the Wagons is to raise money to put back into the community to further develop initiatives and cultural programs for years to come. This year we are proud to be supporting three sister communities of the University District in the northwest: Varsity, University Heights and Montgomery.”
University District envisions a bold new life for Calgary — a sustainable, inspiring people-focused community built for us. Those who appreciate living a good urban life means learning and fulfillment through meaningful cultural experiences, near the beautiful outdoors solo or with family and friends.
During Circle the Wagons, visitors can meet our local partner builders, Brookfield Residential and Truman, two Calgary-based builders dedicated to place-making in the community. University District life embraces and newly defines the urban fabric of this special city by integrating open space and environmental wonder.
Join in the fun! We look forward to introducing you to Calgary’s newest master-planned development during Circle the Wagons 2016!
