Oh Canada! University District is Proud to Call You Home!
November 16, 2016
Hey Canada, are you really already 149 years old?
You don’t look a day over 140!
Today we celebrate Canada Day alongside fellow Calgarians. And this year we’re in exceptionally high spirits as 2016 marks the year we officially moved forward to become one of the nation’s newest cutting edge communities.
With five new community parks all connected to a network of pathways, trails, green spaces and water bodies — as well as a ‘green spine,’ which will join the 200-acre community from one end to another — the University District will be a vibrant reflection of the True North Strong and Free’s dynamic urban and natural eco-system.
Do you love breathtaking views of the Canadian Rockies and Bow River? Canadians are proud of our beautiful parks, mountains and diverse wilderness. The University District will be a dignified reflection of how Canada’s urban centres harmonize with nature.
Built by Canadian builders, the University District connects Canadians to:
- One of the country’s top post-secondary schools, the University of Calgary (UofC)
- Cutting-edge medical centres, such as the Foothills Medical Centre and The Alberta Children’s Hospital
- Recreation, sport and entertainment areas (as the UofC Dinos host some of Canada’s top university-level athletes, the Football team takes on the CFL’s roughest and toughest at the nearby McMahon Stadium)
- Opportunities to see innovative Canadian artists and musicians take the stage at multiple venues
We can’t wait to be part of Canada’s unique fabric.
Happy Canada Day!
