University District Design Profile: Noble by TRUMAN
June 6, 2017
Our Design Profile series from Brookfield Residential and TRUMAN explores the influences, inspiration and intentions behind the builds within University District.
We spoke with TRUMAN to learn more about the background and future of Noble, and its landmark contribution to University District.
How would you describe NOBLE to somebody who hasn’t yet seen it? What’s the look and feel?
Noble is a unique expression of lifestyle without compromise, conceptualized specifically around how people become one with their community. The feeling we provide through Noble is that of possibilities—that people can bring their unique lives and perspectives to a place that’s inclusive and community focused, but celebrates individuals.
At its core, Noble presents a community of connectivity, proximity and limitless possibilities, welcoming each of our residents home to an environment that is truly theirs.
What are some of the architectural influences and inspiration behind NOBLE?
Our influence is the humble relationship between nature and people—building on the surroundings of University District, which is built in the Northwest and encompassed by prairie nature.
The architectural approach of the exterior marries nature with design and each floorplan within Noble maximizes the use of one’s space in any circumstance, whether it’s entertaining friends and family, reading a book or practicing becoming the next Master Chef.
Our spaces are truly for living, in all of its forms—we’re excited to be able to offer spaces with diverse uses and customizable opportunities.
Can you speak to the reasoning behind the use and selection of colour, fixture and texture within the units?
Our approach to design is timeless and functional influenced by modern Danish interior design.
We curate colour palettes that allow Noble homeowners the opportunity to stylize their space in any colour, texture or trend during the lifetime of the building. It’s important for us to craft homes that age beautifully, and attentions to palette are essential.
Distilled to a mantra; Noble is continually focusing on today and tomorrow—and built for living, planning, and enjoying.
Who is the quintessential NOBLE inhabitant? What’s important to them?
If you believe that balance is key to anyone’s happiness, then you are the quintessential Noble person. Noble is made for living in all of its forms, and the design offers opportunities for all kinds of lifestyles. In line with U/D’s spirit of being inclusive and mindfully made, Noble’s design brings experiences and the people who have had them together to build a community that celebrates individuality.
Surrounded by convenience, community and culture, Noble couldn’t be more excited to be part of a community as uniquely crafted as U/D.
How do you see NOBLE as a presence within University District? What sets it apart?
“Build as if to live yourself”– a core belief of TRUMAN is what solidifies Noble’s presence within U/D. The approach to this project from the exterior and interior design along with the selection of materials used make it unique for generations to come.
