NOTICE: University District Has a New Parking System

As of August 1, 2024, University District has updated parking procedures for the underground parkade and surface parking lots. Street parking will continue to fall under the purview of Calgary Parking Authority

What does this mean for visitors?

As part of this change, a new parking validation program has been deployed that will continue to offer complimentary parking to U/D visitors and customers.

Here’s how to obtain your complimentary parking session:

• All parkers visiting a business, clinic or office tenant on University Avenue are eligible for complimentary parking in the underground parkade or surrounding surface lots with validation.
• To receive complimentary parking, you are asked to validate your licence plate by scanning a QR code or entering the information into a tablet, both of which are located inside the business, office, or clinic you are visiting on University Avenue. 
• Please do not prepay for your parking session if you visit a U/D business, office or clinic. 
• Upon scanning the QR code and entering your licence plate, you will be able to see the time that your session will expire. 
• Payment is required after the complimentary parking session expires.
• Prepayment is required for all parkers not visiting a business, office, or clinic which will be charged on an hourly basis.
• Payment methods: 
  • Pay machines: Credit cards only.
  • Scan + Pay QR code/Hangtag App: Debit or credit cards accepted.
