Seniors Living

It’s our aim that our community members can age in place, and our builders and community partners are creating a diverse array of residences designed to make that vision a reality. An independent living complex adjacent to Cambridge Manor—the seniors assisted living and wellness facility—encourages residents in their independence, allows them to stay connected to the community they grow to know and love, and offers ease in access to the care facility to connect with friends and family members.

Time to Play: A Guide to NW Playgrounds for All Ages

A Look Inside Cambridge Manor

We sat down with residents Nirmal & Balbir Sandhu, and listened to their story on what brought them to University District. See why they chose U/D.

Who says kids get to have all the fun? Playing outdoors can and should be for all ages, so it’s no surprise to see communities across the city creating new outdoor play spaces, or redesigning existing ones to include features to attract and delight fun-seekers of all ages.

An ‘age-in-place’ philosophy is embraced, which means a resident does not have to move again if their care needs change over time. The concept is vital to the people-first approach to seniors’ wellness, practiced by The Brenda Strafford Foundation, which takes care of operations at Cambridge Manor and is an industry leader in Alberta.
