More than close in proximity to an internationally acclaimed post-secondary education facility, every consideration in creating University District was built with the university in mind. The first of its kind in Alberta, University District is designed not only to enhance life for all Calgarians but to support UCalgary as a world-class academic institution.
Known until 2014 as the West Campus lands, the land that University District occupies was endowed to UCalgary in 1995. Today, the land contributes to the growth and betterment of the community surrounding the University. A fresh and new-to-Albertans concept is making the land available to urban-lifestyle-seeking homeowners: a land lease. It’s an opportunity we’re proud to bring to the city.
With mindfulness leading our every initiative, we’ve poured time, attention, care, and thought into University District’s sustainability commitments. Three-pronged across environmental, social, and financial sustainability pillars, we proudly celebrate international recognition with a LEED-ND Platinum designation; a nod to being a leader in building an accessible and connected community, and long-term stewardship for our residents and retailers alike.
