University of Calgary Properties Group Earns National Finalist Nod and BILD Calgary Nominations for University District

The developer behind University District and its builder partners were recognized as finalists across multiple awards and categories, highlighting the continued success of the multi-award-winning community.

University of Calgary Properties Group (UCPG) has been named a national finalist in the 2026 Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) National Awards for Housing Excellence in the category of Best Growing Community. In addition, the developer and two of its builder partners; Crystal Creek Homes and Jayman BUILT, have earned a combined four finalist nominations in the 2025 BILD Calgary Region (BILDCR) Awards, recognizing excellence in residential development, design and construction across the Calgary region.

The CHBA National Awards for Housing Excellence represent the highest level of recognition in Canada’s residential construction industry. UCPG’s selection as a national finalist highlights the collaboration, long-term vision and innovation behind University District, one of Canada’s most dynamic and thoughtfully planned urban communities. Winners will be announced on May 8, 2026.

Closer to home, the BILDCR Awards celebrate the best in Calgary’s residential building and development industry, honouring outstanding achievements in community development, homebuilding, marketing and innovation. Finalists represent top-performing projects and organizations across the region.

This year, University District and its partners were recognized in multiple categories, including:

• Community of the Year – City of Calgary – University District, submitted by UCPG
• Best Website – University District, submitted by UCPG
• Best Apartment Style Suite, $681,000 and over – Ada and Amelia suites within Magna by Jayman BUILT.
• Best New Multi-Family Home Design, 1451 sq.ft. and over – GUILD by Crystal Creek Homes

Within University District, both Crystal Creek Homes and Jayman BUILT have been recognized for projects that contribute to the community’s diverse, design-forward housing mix. Crystal Creek Homes earned a finalist nomination for GUILD, a distinctive multi-family townhome project that blends contemporary architecture with functional, spacious living for urban homeowners. Jayman BUILT was recognized for its Magna development, where the Ada and Amelia apartment-style suites feature refined layouts, modern finishes and a strong commitment to energy-efficient, future-focused homebuilding.
