Community Comes Together at University District’s Annual U/D Block Party this Weekend

The U/D Block Party invites Calgarians to discover one of the city’s fastest-growing communities with free, family-friendly fun and activities for all.

University District (U/D) is rolling out the welcome mat for its annual U/D Block Party this weekend. The free, family-friendly outdoor event will feature an exciting mix of live music, a family fun zone, roaming performers and special activations from U/D businesses. The event celebrates the growing Retail Main Street with over 50 businesses and services now open with more to come.

What: U/D Block Party, a free outdoor celebration filled with live music, roaming performers and interactive activities for all ages. Highlights include storefront activations from U/D’s businesses, performances by the Brasstactics Marching Band, a Family Fun Zone with inflatables for young kids, face painting, soccer demos from the Calgary Wild FC, and more.

Where: Retail Main Street along University Avenue NW and the University District Sales & Discovery Centre located at 4410 University Ave NW.

When: Sunday, September 14, 2025 from 1 – 4 p.m.

Who: This free event is open to the public. Spokespeople from University District will be on-site and available for media interviews between 1 – 3 p.m.
