August Opens This September at University District

August 24, 2020 by University District

A modern, vibrant place to call home in Calgary’s Northwest awaits.

Can you hear it? The jingle of shiny new keys.

Can you see it? Bustling moving vans and movers.

Can you imagine it? That dreamy first night’s sleep in a brand new home.

All of this and more is coming to life at University District, with the next set of homeowners moving in.

Set to celebrate another milestone for the community, August by Homes by Avi welcomes everyone into their bright new condo homes starting in September.

With no slow down in construction or finishes, August is right on schedule!

“It’s been a long time coming with construction taking place during such a turbulent time, but we are finally here and ready to welcome our valued residents to their new home and neighbourhood over the next few months,” says Homes by Avi CEO, Charron Ungar.

“August has taken shape better than we could have ever anticipated and it will be an iconic landmark in Calgary’s most vibrant inner-city community!”

To learn more, we spoke with Kyla Cottom, Marketing and Communications Coordinator for Homes by Avi to hear about the exciting updates for August, and the finishing touches to prepare for possession day in September.

“Homes by Avi has a host of new keys cut and tagged!” says Kyla. “We’re ready for our residents to discover their new homes, where they can enjoy the best connected life at University District with neighbours and the community surrounding them. It’s also exciting that the commercial retailers who share our mixed-use building will be moving in as well!

“The keys will be handed over to soon. From students to seniors, young professionals and more, homeowners from all walks of life are ready to live in the heart of the best urban community in Calgary.

“The draws for August — beyond the neighbourhood and location — are the amenities and services that will be steps away. Conveniently located near August will be Save-On-Foods opening across the street, upcoming boutique fitness facilities, an amazing wine store, and a brunch spot to make life for residents accessible and enjoyable. What’s more is that Cineplex and Central Park will be coming soon to U/D too!”

Inside August

What can you find at August? With 107 residential units constructed above its main floor retail space, the sophisticated six-storey, amenity-rich building is beautifully designed. From the oversized windows to luxury details and functional spaces, Homes by Avi has created a proud collection of homes. Even more, enjoying the prairie skies and Calgary’s sunny days have been made easier with walk-out patios and urban balconies to let the outdoors and natural light in.

What sets August apart?

“It’s a very contemporary project, with modern finishes perfectly suited to its urban landscape,” says Kyla. “Topping that off is the stunning outdoor living space on the second floor with its private 4400-square-foot courtyard.

“Residents and their family and friends will also enjoy the private residents’ lounge inside August to host parties and more with a wet bar area perfect for hassle-free, convenient entertaining. Small gatherings are sure to be popular in this pretty space.”

What’s For Sale

Looking to be part of the University District community? There is still time to find a home at August and live a rewarding urban life.

Studio suites and one-bedroom, one-bathroom units at 550-square feet start in the low 200s. They feature a glass enclosed patio and walk-in closet, with a spacious layout.

At the time of this story, ten units of the 25 are still available for purchase and are considered prime properties as they look onto the central, second-storey courtyard.

Plus, four of the popular corner units remain available and are as large as 1,100 square feet with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. These are the largest suites in August.

“All suites have quartz countertops throughout and luxury vinyl plank flooring,” says Kyla. “Custom upgrades have all been built into the price, so our new residents can enjoy luxury design!”

A two-storey parkade is underground and spots are available for every dwelling. But, at U/D, we encourage other methods of transportation with our focus on feet-first commuting, transit, and biking.

Easy accessibility to all the shops, restaurants, wellness and grooming facilities and entertainment has been built into the community’s development plan, and that’s what residents at August will experience. Everything at their doorstep, a stone’s throw away!

How to Buy

With everything happening in the world today, finding the right real estate opportunity has changed! And Homes by Avi has made it an easy experience for interested homebuyers with its virtual tour for the August show suite if they are not yet comfortable visiting the University District Discovery Centre in person.

For those who are compelled to experience the location, sightlines and finishes firsthand, Homes by Avi is preparing to offer on-site tours closer to completion.

“Private viewing tours are available,” says Kyla. “We encourage everyone to book a time with our team and come in! With health and safety in mind, we’re ready to help you find your new home.”

The easiest first step is to visit online or better yet, in person at the Discovery Centre to meet the sales team. They can talk about the size, vantage points and features that fit your wish list and budget.

Possessions start at the end of September with the key handover marked by a signature Homes by Avi welcome basket surprise. Are you ready to be part of the community?

Visit the U/D Discovery Centre to peer around the quality features on display in the show suite, schedule a meeting with the sales team, or set up a tour! Those jingly new keys could be yours! Or enjoy this virtual tour.
